former Kendal Bank HO of Messrs Wakefield and Crewdson. Although large and diverse, Northern District
is controlled from Liverpool District Office.
It is generally acknowledged that Kendal, being one of the largest
provincial Branches of the Bank in the country, is the equivalent of a
district office, having some degree of autonomy and local decision making
