1925 is a very busy year for the Bank of Liverpool and Martins, who announce the opening and acquisition of some seventeen new Branches and sub-Branches.

The existing full Branch at Seaham Harbour is given its own sub branch when the Bank opens an office at nearby Dawdon.

{Branches have been opened during the year at Allerton Road (Liverpool), Bournemouth, Heswall, Little Sutton, St. Hilary (Wallasey) and Southampton; and Sub-Branches at Dawdon, Farnborough (Kent) and Monkseaton. New Branches will be opened shortly at Ainsdale, Meols (Cheshire) and Woolton Road (Liverpool). Premises for a New Branch have been acquired at Chapel Allerton (Leeds). The business of Messrs. E Reed & Sons Cattle Market Bankers, was acquired as from 1st February last, and their offices in the Cattle Markets at Stanley (Liverpool), Salford and Wakefield are now carried on as sub-offices of this Bank’s Cattle Trade Bank Branch, Birkenhead.}

One of many tiny branches opened around this time all over England, Dawdon is destined for a short life, and is closed again in 1932 when the newly created Martins Bank has its first round of branch consolidation to help balance the books after paying out for a new Head Office and a rebuilt London District Office. We have no details about the opening hours at Dawdon, and no image of the branch.
