Having been disappointed to find no images of Addingham sub Branch in
Barclays’ collection, were delighted
when Don Barrett of Addingham Archive was been able to supply this lovely
colour image featuring the Crown Public House and Hotel, and Addingham
Memorial Hall – with the bank’s name above the door – which dates from the
mid to late 1960s. We have actually used the rooftop radio and TV aerials to
try and date this image! Craven Distict has many fine branches, and this one doesn’t
disappoint. How good to see a bank branch
at the heart of a village – with a hotel a pub and a bank virtually all next
door to each other, the weary traveller really can’t go wrong in this part of
Craven! |
