As you wind your way slowly up the A592 towards
Ambleside, you will find, tucked away at the very heart of the Lake District,
the tiny village of Troutbeck, (which is NOT to be confused with nearby
Troutbeck Bridge). This tiny
office operates at the Troutbeck Farmers’ auction Mart, as a sub-Branch to
Windermere, and opens each Tuesday to assist with the smooth flow of cash as
livestock is bought and sold. Sadly we
have no images of this branch, so If you can help with images and/or
information about this or any of Martins Bank’s 1000+ Branch buildings,
please do get in touch with us, at the usual address: - martinsbankarchive@btinternet.com Martins Bank has another sub-Branch with the same name,
but this one (for which images and information are also sought) is located
further north, at TROUTBECK (PENRITH),
adjoining the premises of the Penrith Farmers’ Auction Mart. Extract from the Bank of Liverpool and Martins
