The Southwards expansion of Martins Bank continues through the
1960s, and in 1964 produces another showpiece branch in Birmingham. The new office at Edgbaston is one of the
earliest to feature a new and much bolder standard font for signage, and the
building chosen – Radclyffe House - is a clear statement of 60s design, and
similar in many ways to Martins’ rebuilt branch at PRESTON
FISHERGATE. |

there are no visits to the new Branch by Martins Bank Magazine, but there are
these few precious photographs of the building in the Barclays collection of
Martins Bank photographs, including some post-merger comparisons below.
Radcliffe house serves Barclays until June 1986.
