Martins Bank’s
Gloucester Cattle Market branch is just eight years old when it closes in
1969 as part of the preparations for the merger with Barclays Bank.
Barclays
has of course, to look very carefully at where duplication of branches and/or
service might occur, and decide to close either a Martins or Barclays outlet
accordingly. This also ensures that
the best building for the job is retained.
