The Midland Branches begin with Colmore Row in Birmingham, and cover the East and West Midlands area, going north to Derbyshire and Staffordshire, east to Boston, and South to Peterborough. As Oxfordshire Branches are in the far north of that county, Oxfordshire is actually in the Midland District of the Bank. Martins Bank opens its first Branches in the City of Birmingham in 1935, and many more are opened and closed in the City before the 1969 merger with Barclays.
